Tones of Tamano

The subject of my current work is Tamano city in Okayama prefecture, Japan. Located on the beautiful coastline of the Seto inland sea and less than five kilometers from Naoshima.

Although I paint from imagination not life, the views I see everyday influence my paintings.

Via the use of subtle tones, structured compositions, subdued or powerful light, I aim to pull the viewer into each painting to experience the character and feeling of Tamano.
